Use to maintain magnesium levels or increase magnesium during times of heavy work or stress. Magnesium chloride, when applied directly, to the skin, is transdermally absorbed and has an almost immediate effect on chronic and acute pain.
Directions for use: dissolve 2 cups of Magnesium Mineral Bath in a 2 gallon bucket of warm water.  Get horse wet, scrap excess water off.   Sponge entire contents of bucket all over horse concentrating on neck, back and/or areas of strain or soreness. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse.  Do not restrict access to water.

Magnesium and the athlete
- Research reveals that muscle endurance and total work capacity, declines rapidly with nutritional deficiency in the area of key minerals like zinc and magnesium. Magnesium is essential to a diet for athletes under a lot of stress.    Continual stress and excessive amounts of lactic acid in the muscle have been linked to higher levels of anxiety.   Large amounts of magnesium are lost when a horse is under stress.  When magnesium chloride is applied to muscles topically it promotes the release of lactic acid from the muscle tissue. The combination of heat and magnesium chloride increases circulation and waste removal. This principle can be applied during training and before and after competition.  Magnesium chloride bath salts are similar to Epsom salt baths, but much stronger. A magnesium chloride bath helps draw inflammation out of the muscles and joints.

The composition of the brines is distinct, comprised mainly of magnesium, potassium and calcium chlorides, as well as a high level of bromides, making it an extremely therapeutic and soothing treatment for the whole body.


1 cup of magnesium flakes delivers approximately 15g of elemental magnesium.


Dissolve 2 cups into a gallon bucket of warm water.  Sponge on entire body concentrating on the back and hips.  Wait 20 minutes, rinse with warm water. 


Temperature of the water should be warm but not hot. Hot water causes the skin to eliminate rather than to absorb.


*Please Note: After application you may notice a slight salt-like mineral residue is left when it dries. This is normal, especially in dry climates or heated indoor areas, and also varies with how much you are applying at one time. After 20 minutes, the majority of the magnesium ions have been absorbed and you may rinse off the mineral residue. Wiping the skin off with a damp washcloth is also an acceptable method.
